The job definition here was to lay PE pipes OD 63 mm (2.5”) as cable conduits for electricity cables. These cables will be used to light up the to the restaurant belonging parking area. Four stages of drilling, each between 20 – 35 m (66 – 115 ft), were necessary to carry out the required pipe assembly (see illustration below). Bautax used its TERRA-JET DJ 10 and within two working days the entire bores were made and the cable conduits successfully pulled in.
The anchorage of the machine happens hydraulically with the on-board anchoring system, which even is capable drilling through asphalt.
The mixing + pumping station can easily be operated from the loading platform of the truck.
For difficult underground – backfilled ground and gravelly ground – a 3-fingerhead was used, which drills this underground without any trouble.
For the pulling in of the pipe a backreamer armed with carbide
metal teeth ø 115 mm (4.5”) was used.
Thanks to the power transmission by the direct-ram-principle, newly developed by TERRA AG, the pipe was pulled in easily through the hard soil.
