The contractor Erdbau Gruber GmbH from Rohrbach, Austria was founded 1992 as a dealer for truck and construction equipment. In the year 2003 the company was changed to a contractor. Today they have 15 employees. Their main activity is the cable laying business. Their operating region is East Austria. Main client is the Telecom Austria. Additionaly Erdbau Gruber works for privat telecom companys and for power companys.
The DJ 18 PIT is a pit launched HDD machine, which produces directional bores in lengths up to 100 m (330 ft) and backreams up to ø 420 mm (17”). It can even drill in rock with the rock drilling tools TERRA-ROCK. In spite of this it requires only a pit with 2.0 m (6.6 ft) length and 2.0 m (6.6 ft) width. The pit is as deep as the pipe, therefore the pit can be used in both directions.
