HDD horizontal drill TERRA-JET DJ 20 drills horizontal and vertical
One of Repcon's projects required horizontal HDPE pipes for 17 kV cables and vertical bores for lighting posts. Repcon's Director had choosen his TERRA-JET DJ 20 with vertical option for this project.
Pictures 1: First a road crossing with several existing pipes and cables had to be done. Due to the small bending radius of the TERRA drill rods, this jobsite could be realized successfully.
Pictures 2+3: After the successful pilot bore a reamer OD 160 mm (6”) was assembled, to pull in a HDPE pipe OD 110 mm (4.3”). After only 30 minutes the pipe had been pulled in over a length of 35 m (115 ft).
Picture 4: Then the TERRA-JET DJ 20 was modified for vertical drilling. This modification can be done on the jobsite within 30 minutes.

Picture 6: After 1 ½ hours 25 m (80 ft) at been drilled vertically. For the stabilisation of the bore hole ø 100 mm (4“), 100 ltr/min (26 gpm) of Bentonite were pumped into the vertical bore hole.
