In Paida, the small historical town in the middle of Estonia, a new HDPE pipe OD 160 mm (6“) had to be laid over a length of 65 m (215 ft). A new road and a bicycle track had to be undercrossed. This pipe laying project was done with the TERRA-JET DJ 20, which is characterized by an excellent operating concept which allows to finish jobsites easy and fast. Additionally the operator enjoys his relaxed job.
Picture 1: First the TERRA-JET had to be driven into the starting position. The starting point of the bore was near by a river, the ground was swampy and difficult for driving.
Picture 2: Then the two crossings could be drilled.
Pictures 3+4: After the successful pilot bore the reamer OD 215 mm (8“) was assembled, to pull in the HDPE pipe OD 160 mm (6“). After only 1 ½ hours the new pipe was pulled in over 65 m (215 ft).
Picture 5: This HDD bore required 5‘800 ltr (1900 gal) of drilling fluid. The high pressure Bentonite pump with 100 ltr/min (26 gpm) is standard for the TERRA-JET DJ 20.
Pictures 6+7: The TERRA-JET DJ 20 outstands by its excellent operating concept. The HDD machine can be operated by one Joystick. The operator can chose between automatic or manual mode.
