Rock Drill in Germany - TERRA-JET DJ 20
Job realization The pilot bore was drilled with the 3-fingerhead right on target. In slate rock the Carve Mode of the DJ 20 is a big help. It allows controlled steering even in rocky ground. The high rod rotation of 230 rpm allows fast and productive drilling. The high torque of 2'800 Nm (2'000 ft.lbs) at a pullback force of 9 tonnes (20'000 lbs) guarantee successful reaming of the bore channel in such hard ground conditions. Reaming was done with the new TERRA reamers ROCK. The Cruise Mode of the TERRA-JET DJ 20 is adjusted at high rotation speed and low pullback speed. Then the TCI tips cut the slate rock. The cuttings are flashed out of the bore channel with the drilling fluid. The drilling fluid volume is max. 100 ltr/min (25 gpm).
