In the Swiss city Dübendorf the fresh water house connections of two apartment buildings had to be renewed. The contractor Secchi Bau AG used their traceable TERRA-HAMMER TU 105 S KOK-LD for this project. This underground piercing tool is equipped with a sonde (transmitter), which is placed directly in the piercing head. So a locator can find out the exact position and depth. Additionally this piercing tool is equipped with a special oversized end sleeve, which allows to pull pipes up to OD 112 mm (4.4”) simultaneously.
The TERRA-HAMMER is adjusted in the starting pit.
The PE pipe is pulled in simultaneously with the TERRA-HAMMER.
The TERRA lubricator allows to adjust the speed of the TERRA-HAMMER from 0 – 100 %.
The head of the TERRA-HAMMER is located precisely with the locator.
After 11 m (36 ft) the TERRA-HAMMER reaches the arrival pit right on target.
