The TERRA-HAMMER is used for trenchless underground pipe and cable laying. For bores up to ø 300 mm (12 in) the TERRA-HAMMER displaces the soil sideways, while larger diameters up to 3000 mm (120 in) are achieved by steel pipe ramming.
When displacing soil (see pic. right) the pneumatically powered tools force their way through the ground simultaneously installing PVC or PE pipes under driveways, roads and railway lines. The process is fast and economical, minimizing disruption and allows continuation of traffic flows during works.
Typically, underground piercing tools are used over distances of 5 – 25 m (15 – 80 ft). To facilitate longer installations the machines can be equipped with a traceable KOK-LD adapter to monitor the unit’s performance and accuracy. In addition, the TERRA-HAMMER is used for steel pipe ramming and pipe bursting without any modification
