Developed based on direct customer feedback, the DJ 66e represents the next generation of high-performance electrical horizontal directional drilling technology from TERRA.
Equipped with fully electric motors, the TERRA-JET DJ 66e delivers up to 300 kN (30 t) of thrust and pullback force, 12,500 Nm of rotational torque and a maximum spindle speed of 230 rpm. All electric motors work at highest efficiency.
This powerful combination ensures outstanding productivity for large-scale installation projects—enabling faster, more efficient work with minimal downtime.

SUSTAINABLE POWER SUPPLY

The DJ 66e is powered by a fully electric drive system. It consists of a rechargeable battery with a capacity of 100 kWh, multiple onboard chargers and inverters that regulate voltage and current. No fuel is needed. This significantly reduces CO2 emissions.
In addition, the DJ 66e operates quietly and meets the growing demand for environmentally friendly and low-noise jobsite solutions.

HIGH BENTONITE FLOW RATE

The DJ 66e is designed for highest productivity. The external high-pressure pump of 1.000 l/min ensures highest performance. The real-time drill datas are being sent into a cloud via an integrated telematics system.

OSCILLATING DRILL RAMP (PATENTED)

The DJ 66e is equipped with a patented self-aligning drill ramp. It enables ground-breaking entry angles of 19% - 58% (11° - 30°). This means that pre-bent pipes can also be pulled in.

CABIN WITH HANDS-FREE DEVICE

The DJ 66e has a fully enclosed cabin which offers premium operator comfort such as an integrated hands-free device, climate control and a small fridge. The increased legroom keeps drillers comfortable during long hours on a job. It offers the best-in-class visibility of drilling operations with a clear view to critical vision points, including ground entrance, break-apart system and rear connection.

EXTERNAL POWER SUPPLY

The DJ 66e can be powered directly from the public grid, a generator, or a mobile battery unit. The integrated power distribution unit requires three phases each 400 V (AC) at 50 Hz and a current of 125 A. All components are earthed via an integrated safety system.

POWERLOCK SYSTEM

The DJ 66e uses a high-performance PowerLock connector system for safe and efficient energy transfer between the external power source and the machine’s power distribution unit. This industrial-grade plug-in interface allows for quick and reliable connection of high-voltage electrical supply, ensuring minimal setup time and maximum safety.

DRILL ROD MAGAZIN (HOT-DIP GALVANIZED)

The DJ 66e has 32 drill rods on board, each 4.57 m long. For higher productivity you just exchange the empty drill rod magazine against a full one. All steel parts are hot-dip galvanized for long resistance.
The clamp spacing of the DJ 66e is large enough to pull the Brownline gyro system into the clamp unit. This makes it easier to work with the gyro system on site.

BROWNLINE GYRO SYSTEM

As an option TERRA offers an electrical cable drum for the Brownline Gyro system. This allows drilling with cable guided steering tools. The cable is directly connected to the monitor of the cabin for user friendly operation.
